At Poly UP, we’re excited to share that we were recently nominated for a King’s Award for young people in business, an incredible recognition of our journey and achievements so far. Although we didn’t make it through to the finals, being nominated for such a prestigious award is a huge honour, and one that we and the entire Poly UP team are extremely proud of.

A note from one of our Managing Directors, Lewis Nickson:

Our story began with a dream of creating high-quality outdoor spaces, specialising in resin bound gravel, rubber wetpour, and sport-grade artificial grass surfacing installations. However, like any new business, we needed funding to turn our vision into reality. Initially, I was too old to join the King’s Trust Enterprise Programme, but Rob, aged 30 at the time, applied and was accepted. Shortly afterwards, we learned that the King’s Trust had recently updated its programme to include all business partners within a limited company, regardless of age.

With this opportunity, Myself and Rob worked together to create a business plan and secure the funding needed to bring Poly UP to life. The journey wasn’t without its challenges, but with determination and resilience, we overcame every hurdle along the way. Thanks to the support of the King’s Trust and our dedicated business mentor, Heather, we were able to grow and achieve so much in such a short amount of time.

It was Heather who nominated Rob for the King’s Award, recognising the hard work and progress we had made as a team. While we were ecstatic to learn about the nomination, it was a bittersweet moment for us, as it came just days after the passing of our beloved nan. We celebrated in her memory and took great pride in what we had achieved.

Although we didn’t progress to the finals, Rob was commended for his nomination, and we see this as a massive achievement for Poly UP. It highlights how far we’ve come as a business and motivates us to continue working hard to deliver the best for our clients. We would like to congratulate the finalists and wish them all the best on their journeys. To those who were also nominated but didn’t make it through, well done—you should be incredibly proud of your accomplishments.

At Poly UP, we remain committed to providing quality installations of resin bound gravel, durable rubber wetpour, and premium sport-grade artificial grass. Whether it’s a sleek driveway, a safe and vibrant playground, or a professional sports surface, our team works tirelessly to deliver exceptional results.

Thank you to the King’s Trust for supporting our journey and recognising our efforts. As we look to the future, we’re excited to continue growing and transforming outdoor spaces across the UK.
