🌧️⚽ Whiston | 6,400m² Synthetic Football Pitch Installation 🌱
We’ve had a storm to contend with during the first two days on site but despite the weather throwing everything at us, our team has pulled it back in just one day to keep this project on track. 👊
We’re currently installing the shock pad, followed by 6,400m² of synthetic grass and full line markings for the academy’s new football pitch and we’re doing it all to the highest standard, on time, and within deadline.
Massive credit to our team who’ve been working flat-out across multiple sites recently. Their dedication means that when the next generation returns to school, they’ll be stepping onto a brand-new pitch built to perform and built to last.
Huge thanks as always to our brilliant partners (and good mates) over at @sportexgroup It never really feels like work when you’re surrounded by great people who support you — rain, sunshine, or storm. 👏

🌱 Surface prep nearly complete!
Our team laid the synthetic grass at the @afcb Performance Centre, bringing the site one step closer to the finish line 💪
With the shock pad in place, the surface is now fully prepped and ready for its final phase — the all-important infill.
We’re buzzing with how good this is looking already. The new surface sits perfectly within its surroundings and really complements the architecture of the performance centre. Safe to say it’s not just built for performance — it looks the part too 👌

One of the standout features of resin-bound driveways is their ability to be laid directly over existing surfaces, such as block paving, tarmac, or flagstones. This approach minimizes both time and disruption during installation, offering a wide array of design options without the need for extensive groundwork.
However, there are important considerations when opting to overlay existing driveways. For instance, block paving and flagstones may shift over time due to their own weight, potentially causing cracks in the resin surface. Proper groundwork is crucial to mitigate these issues and ensure the longevity of the driveway.
Similarly, laying resin over concrete requires meticulous preparation. While this method eliminates permeability, it offers a sturdy base if properly primed with a polymer primer. Skipping this step can lead to poor adhesion, necessitating redoing the entire process.
Newly installed surfaces also require time to settle before applying resin. Concrete surfaces, for instance, should cure for at least seven days before priming and applying resin-bound aggregate. This waiting period ensures a stable foundation for the driveway.
Tarmac surfaces, on the other hand, are suitable for resin overlay if they are in good condition and laid on a solid subbase. This approach minimizes installation time and maximizes the driveway’s durability.
In summary, resin driveways offer a flexible and durable solution for homeowners looking to enhance their property’s curb appeal. By understanding the nuances of overlaying different surfaces, one can ensure a seamless and long-lasting finish that complements any home.
