Project Updates | Northern Ireland - 2,600m² Pitch Installation Complete
Completed installation of a 2G sand-filled multi-soft system in Northern Ireland.
This 2,600m² surface was installed with carpet and pad to provide a durable, low-maintenance solution suited for regular use. Sand-filled systems remain a dependable option where longevity and consistent footing are key.
The finished images highlight the clean detailing and uniform finish achieved across the full pitch area.
We appreciate the opportunity to deliver this project alongside @sispitchesireland, and credit to the Poly UP team for maintaining high standards throughout.

Project Updates | Northern Ireland - Installation to Completion
This video shows the progression of our latest project in Northern Ireland, moving from active installation through to completed surface.
The works involved the installation of a 2G sand-filled multi-soft carpet and pad system, covering 2,600m². Systems like this are designed to provide a stable, durable playing surface with consistent performance underfoot.
It’s always rewarding to see each stage come together, from the initial carpet roll-out to the final sand integration and finish.
A big thank you to @sispitchesireland for the opportunity to collaborate on this project. Strong partnerships make smooth delivery possible.

Safety is often the top priority for schools, clubs, and local authorities when investing in sports surfacing, but what does a “safe” surface actually mean in practice?
In our latest blog post, we break down the key standards and safety factors every facility should understand.
In this article, we cover:
* Why shock absorption and Critical Fall Height (CFH) matter
* The importance of slip resistance and effective drainage
* Fire safety, non-toxicity, and long-term durability
* Essential compliance standards including BS EN 1177 and Sport England guidance
Meeting safety standards isn’t just about compliance, it’s about protecting users, reducing risk, and future-proofing your facility.

One of the standout features of resin-bound driveways is their ability to be laid directly over existing surfaces, such as block paving, tarmac, or flagstones. This approach minimizes both time and disruption during installation, offering a wide array of design options without the need for extensive groundwork.
However, there are important considerations when opting to overlay existing driveways. For instance, block paving and flagstones may shift over time due to their own weight, potentially causing cracks in the resin surface. Proper groundwork is crucial to mitigate these issues and ensure the longevity of the driveway.

Similarly, laying resin over concrete requires meticulous preparation. While this method eliminates permeability, it offers a sturdy base if properly primed with a polymer primer. Skipping this step can lead to poor adhesion, necessitating redoing the entire process.
Newly installed surfaces also require time to settle before applying resin. Concrete surfaces, for instance, should cure for at least seven days before priming and applying resin-bound aggregate. This waiting period ensures a stable foundation for the driveway.
Tarmac surfaces, on the other hand, are suitable for resin overlay if they are in good condition and laid on a solid subbase. This approach minimizes installation time and maximizes the driveway’s durability.
In summary, resin driveways offer a flexible and durable solution for homeowners looking to enhance their property’s curb appeal. By understanding the nuances of overlaying different surfaces, one can ensure a seamless and long-lasting finish that complements any home.
